A WELL IN MALABE

Perpetual Water Spring

A WELL IN MALABE

This year’s drought has made the wells run dry. We need water badly for our plants, or growth will be retarded, and the crop will be a failure. We have to do something fast. One option is to deepen the well. The other option is to locate another place where there would be a good spring and sink a new well. Fortunately, I have the power to divine water. So, with a palm frond in hand, I started walking with measured steps where it is most likely to have a good spring. Eureka!  I feel the vibrations we have water!

Time to call in the well diggers. They break ground with a prayer, hoping and praying the water table will not be too deep. Everyone is tensed and waiting. 10 feet and no signs of water. I cannot be wrong. The diggers are exhausted, but they won’t give up. One more foot and we struck pay dirt. The spring is a good strong one, and they go on digging to create a suitable reservoir. We lay charcoal to purify the water. The walls are quite firm, and there’s no need for reinforcing. A live fence was planted around for protection.
